COCOA VILLAGE, FLORIDA

Effortless smiles, intentionally designed.

Cosmetic work that looks like it was always yours, planned around your face rather than pulled from a catalog.

The most common worry is not whether it will work. It is whether it will look obvious.

Everyone has seen the version of this that goes wrong, where the teeth are too white, too straight and too uniform to belong to the face they are in. Nobody wants to be that.

Avoiding it is a matter of planning rather than luck. The proportions, the shade and the degree of character we leave in are all decisions, and they get made with you before anything irreversible happens. The aim is that people notice you look well rather than noticing your teeth, which is a harder result to achieve and the only one worth having.

Where to start

If your teeth are healthy and you simply want them brighter, whitening is usually the whole answer and it is the least invasive thing we do.

If a tooth is chipped, uneven or has a gap beside it, cosmetic bonding can often solve it in a single visit without touching the surrounding teeth.

If the shape, size or alignment of several teeth is what bothers you, porcelain veneers are the treatment that changes those things properly and permanently.

And if you are not sure which of those applies, that is what a consultation is for. We will tell you the smallest thing that gets you the result you are after, including when that is nothing at all.

Teeth whitening

Professional whitening lifts stains that build up over years from coffee, tea, red wine and simply from age, and it typically goes further than over-the-counter products. We offer in-office treatment when you want the result quickly, and custom trays made from impressions of your own teeth when you would rather do it gradually at home.

It is worth knowing what whitening cannot do. It does not change the color of existing crowns, veneers or fillings, so if you have restorations at the front we will plan around that rather than leave you with a mismatch. Sensitivity afterwards is common, usually short-lived, and manageable with the right preparation.

Cosmetic bonding

Bonding uses tooth-colored composite, shaped and polished directly onto the tooth, to repair a chip, close a small gap or even out an edge. It is done in one appointment, usually without anesthetic, and it removes little or none of the natural tooth.

It is the most conservative cosmetic option we have and often the right first move, particularly for a single tooth. Composite does not resist staining as well as porcelain and will not last as long, so for a larger change across several teeth veneers are the more durable answer. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in.

Full smile design

Full smile design is planned as a whole rather than as a series of separate treatments.

When the goal is a change across the whole smile, the work usually combines several of the things on this page. It may involve alignment first, because straightening a tooth is almost always better than disguising the fact that it is crooked.

Planning starts with photographs and a conversation about what you want to change, in your words rather than in dental terms. You see the plan before it begins, and nothing irreversible happens until you are certain.

Questions we get asked

Will it look obvious?

Not if it is planned properly. Cosmetic work looks artificial when the shade is brighter than anything found in nature and the proportions are copied from a template. Avoiding that is a matter of planning rather than luck.

How white is too white?

The honest answer is that it depends on your skin tone and the whites of your eyes, which is why we choose shade with you in daylight rather than from a chart in a bright room.

How long does whitening last?

Usually a year or two, depending on how much coffee, tea and red wine you drink. Touch-up trays make it straightforward to keep on top of.

Can I do this in one visit?

Bonding and in-office whitening, yes. Veneers and full smile design take several appointments because the planning is most of the work.

What if I do not know what I need?

That is what a consultation is for. We will tell you the smallest thing that gets you the result you want, including when that is nothing at all.
