COCOA VILLAGE, FLORIDA
What it is actually like here
Most practices tell you about their technology. This page tells you how a visit feels, because that is the part people are actually deciding on.

Your first visit, step by step
You book online or call
You can book online in under a minute, or call and speak to a person. Your paperwork comes to you beforehand so you are not filling in forms on a clipboard in a waiting room.
When you arrive
You are greeted by name. The waiting room is quiet and warm, and your appointment starts close to the time it was meant to, because the schedule is built with room in it rather than packed to the minute.
A conversation first
We start by talking about what brought you in, what has bothered you before, whether anything makes you anxious and what you would like to be different. That happens sitting up and talking, not lying back with instruments already in your mouth.
The examination
We take digital x-rays and intraoral photographs so that you can see what we are seeing on a screen rather than take our word for it. We talk through what is there, what needs attention now, what can be watched and what we would leave alone entirely.
You leave with a written plan
You receive the plan in writing, with the cost of each part of it. No decisions are asked of you in the chair, and nothing is booked under pressure. If you want to think about it, think about it.
No judgment, ever.
If it has been years since your last visit, you will not hear about it. If your teeth are in worse shape than you would like, nobody here is going to react to that, because we have seen it before and because shame has never once improved a clinical outcome.
Most people who have been away from the dentist for a long time are not avoiding the dentistry. They are avoiding the lecture. There is not one here.
Comfort
The practice occupies a historic building in Cocoa Village, and the renovation kept its character rather than stripping it out, so the stained glass and the chandeliers are still here. The rest has been rebuilt around warm materials, soft light and greenery, because a room that feels calm does more for dental anxiety than almost anything else we could offer.
If you are anxious, tell us, and tell us what specifically. We can offer numbing before anything begins, breaks whenever you want one, headphones, an explanation before each step or no explanation at all if you would rather not know. Anxiety is common and it is workable, and we would much rather adjust the appointment than have you avoid it.

Technology, briefly
Digital x-rays use a fraction of the radiation of film and appear on screen immediately, so you see them at the same time we do. Intraoral cameras let us show you the tooth we are talking about rather than describe it. Digital impressions replace the tray of material that made people gag.
None of this is remarkable on its own and every good practice has it. It matters here for one reason only, which is that it lets us show you what we are seeing so that you can make your own decision rather than simply trusting ours.

In their own words
Come and see
The easiest way to find out whether this is the practice for you is to come in for a cleaning and an examination and see how it feels.
