COCOA VILLAGE, FLORIDA
General and family dentistry
The routine care that keeps everything else from becoming complicated, delivered without the rush.

Most dental problems are cheaper, simpler and less uncomfortable to deal with early. That is the entire argument for regular care, and it is true whether your last visit was six months ago or six years ago. What usually stops people is not the argument, it is the expectation of how the appointment is going to go.
So we should be clear about how it goes here. Nobody will comment on how long it has been, and nobody will read you a list of everything that is wrong before you have had a chance to speak.
You will be asked what brought you in, you will be shown what we are seeing, and you will leave knowing what needs doing, what can wait, and what each of those costs.
Cleanings and exams
A cleaning, a full examination, x-rays where they are needed, and an oral cancer screening.
The cleaning removes the plaque and tartar that brushing cannot reach. For most people this happens twice a year, and if your gums need closer attention we will tell you why rather than simply booking you more often.
If it has been a long time and there is more buildup than usual, that is normal and it is manageable. Sometimes it means a deeper cleaning across more than one visit, and if that is the case we will tell you before we start, not partway through.
Children and families
We see children and adults, which means one practice, one location and appointments that can often be arranged close together rather than scattered across a week. For a family that is usually the difference between care that happens and care that keeps being postponed.
For a child's first visits, the goal is not a thorough clinical workup. The goal is that they leave without a reason to be afraid of the next one, because a child who is comfortable at the dentist becomes an adult who goes to the dentist. We move at whatever pace that takes.
Preventive care
Sealants protect the grooved chewing surfaces of back teeth where decay usually starts in children, and they take minutes to place. Fluoride treatment strengthens enamel and is useful well beyond childhood, particularly for anyone prone to decay or dealing with dry mouth.
Grinding is far more common than people realize, and most of the people doing it have no idea.
If we see the wear pattern, we will show it to you. A custom night guard is a small thing that prevents a genuinely expensive problem later, which is the sort of trade we will always recommend.
What it costs, and how we handle insurance
You will be given the cost of anything we recommend before it happens rather than at the front desk on the way out. If you have insurance we will help you understand what it covers, and if you do not, we will talk you through the options plainly.
Financing and insuranceQuestions we get asked
How often should I come in?
Twice a year suits most people. If your gums need closer attention we will tell you that and explain why, rather than simply booking you more often.
It has been years. Is that a problem?
No. It is more common than you would think and nobody here will comment on it. If there is more buildup than usual it may mean a deeper cleaning across more than one visit, and we will tell you that before we start rather than partway through.
Do you see children?
Yes. We see children and adults, which usually means one practice, one location and appointments that can be arranged close together rather than scattered across a week.
Will I know what it costs before you do it?
Always. Anything we recommend comes with a written cost before you agree to it.
Do I need x-rays at every visit?
No. How often depends on your history and your risk of decay, and we will explain the reason rather than taking them by default.
